Genetic toxicology – is it still relevant or even more critical?

Presenter: Dr Brian Burlinson

Session description: Genetic toxicity remains one of the few areas that can stop the development of a material. Since its birth in the 1970s it is still regarded as an arcane branch of toxicology with often unruly assays and immeasurable interpretation; but things are changing.  Long standing traditions being called into question.
This session will consider the background of genotoxicity, the old and the new’ upcoming’ assays, and how the interpretation of genotoxicity is changing.  The use and control of historical data, QSAR, screening will also be discussed
